Our history
Documented since the 10th Century AD, but probably dating back to the Roman times, our two estates lie along the former Roman road the Via Aurelia. Up the the late 18th centry AD both were owned by the famous Abbaye de Saint Victor --once the richest Abbey in Provence.
The present owner's father bought the two estates in 1942 and they have remained in her hands since then.
In 2000 the wine making equipment was thoroughly renovated and modernized and new wine making techniques were introduced.
Since that date there has not been a year in which Fontlade did not earn praise in the press --specialised or not -- and in te better-nown guides, especially the Hachette Guide.
